Financial Controller – Technology

We are currently partnering with a leading technology company that are seeking a commercially astute Financial Controller to join their team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the business.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking company, working closely with the Managing Director to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making.

The Role
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the full financial function of the business, managing a dedicated finance team, and ensuring alignment with the group parent company. You will take ownership of P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet reporting, whilst also providing valuable financial insights to support business growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations, governance standards, and group policies.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business performance.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including management accounts, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and asset management.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and foreign exchange (FX) strategy.
  • Act as the key liaison with the group parent company, ensuring reporting alignment.
  • Work with external auditors and tax advisors to maintain compliance.
  • Drive efficiencies in financial systems and processes, ensuring robust internal controls.
  • Lead risk management, covering insurance, legal compliance, and financial mitigation strategies.


What We’re Looking For
Essential:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role within an SME or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, statutory reporting, and financial compliance.
  • Experience working with group-level parent companies and consolidated reporting.
  • Commercial experience within a manufacturing or technology-driven business.
  • Excellent financial modelling, analytical skills, and business acumen.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.


Desirable:

  • Experience in industrial computing, automation, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, MRP processes, Oracle FCC, Business Central, or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with group reporting frameworks and corporate governance policies.
