Financial Controller
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking company, working closely with the Managing Director to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the full financial function of the business, managing a dedicated finance team, and ensuring alignment with the group parent company. You will take ownership of P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet reporting, whilst also providing valuable financial insights to support business growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations, governance standards, and group policies.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business performance.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior stakeholders.
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including management accounts, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and asset management.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and foreign exchange (FX) strategy.
- Act as the key liaison with the group parent company, ensuring reporting alignment.
- Work with external auditors and tax advisors to maintain compliance.
- Drive efficiencies in financial systems and processes, ensuring robust internal controls.
- Lead risk management, covering insurance, legal compliance, and financial mitigation strategies.
What We’re Looking For Essential:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role within an SME or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, statutory reporting, and financial compliance.
- Experience working with group-level parent companies and consolidated reporting.
- Commercial experience within a manufacturing or technology-driven business.
- Excellent financial modelling, analytical skills, and business acumen.
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in industrial computing, automation, or manufacturing sectors.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, MRP processes, Oracle FCC, Business Central, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with group reporting frameworks and corporate governance policies.
